I have now had a Whisperkool for 3 years. it has worked flawlessly, other than a few drips which could be due to a) I don't have the drip tube installed and b) I don't have a professional, totally moisture shielded room.br /br /In anywhere around the price range, this is the one to buy. I know many other people with them - similar experience. and a friend who has a professional wine cellar business says Whisperkool is the best to buy for an in-wall install. You can do better with a split system, but many of us don't have that option or budget.

The XLT series is an economical cooling solution, designed for cellar enthusiasts who are on a budget but want to experience WhisperKOOL quality and performance. Designed for simple through-the-wall installation, the unit fits between standard wall studs and the rear flange eliminates the need for a support shelf. All XLT models include a condensate evaporator standard; this dissipates excess moisture that collects during normal operation. As with all WhipserKOOL systems, the XLT is equipped with a liquid measuring thermostat to accurately maintain wine temperature. The XLT has a 30°F temperature differential. In order to keep your cellar at 55°F, the area the units is exhausting into should not exceed 85°F. This makes interior installation ideal for XLT units. Made in the USA. Vinoteque recently shipped me my 3rd WhisperKool unit, and it is awesome - as ALL the others have been to now. My cellar has grown every few years necessitating a larger cooling unit, and these innovative cooling units made here in California have always stood the tests of our extreme summer heat. I've had one small problem over the past 15 years, and their service staff were out the next day and did not leave until it was satisfactorily repaired. Great product, great service!br /br /wine dude...br /br /

I have had a whisperkool unit for 2 years and it just died. All of my other units, made by various manufacturers have lasted for 5 -7 years. I won't buy another.
